If you just can't face the stove at this point in the season, there's no need to worry. Just about every grocery store and gourmet shop in the area is ready to come to your aid.

The Basics
If you want a meal that's both economical and traditional, Giant and Safeway are offering turkey dinners with all the trimmings to serve anywhere from 6 to 12 people, with prices ranging from about $30 to $40. To order at Safeway, call 24 to 48 hours in advance of pickup (1-800-SAFEWAY). Giant's meals are boxed and ready-to-go at all stores.

For the main course, try a HoneyBaked ham ($4.99 per pound) or turkey breast ($6.59 per pound) at any of the company's nine area outlets. It isn't necessary to order in advance, but if you call ahead, you stand a better chance of getting the size you request.
